Special Delivery

Tony was typing up his letter for maternity leave, sitting at his desk. He was due within the next two to three weeks and Ducky had decided it would be best for him to go ahead to start his leave now in case anything came up. So, while Jethro and the team were out investigating leads on a new case, Tony was caught at his desk. He had just finished the letter and was printing it out when a jolting pain tore through his abdomen and back. It took him a few moments to catch his breath before he picked up the phone and dialed down to the morgue.

"Jimmy... get Ducky... I think this baby is gonna be early..."

Two minutes later, Ducky was entering the bullpen when another pain tore through Tony, leaving him gasping for air. Ducky walked over with Jimmy and the two of them slowly helped him to his feet.

"I've already called Jethro, Anthony, and he will be meeting us at the hospital. Dr. Pitt will be there as well to keep an eye on your pulmonary function as we get ready to deliver this little one of yours..."

Half an hour later they were at the hospital, Tony in a private room hooked up to a couple of machines and iv's, waiting for Jethro to get there.

That gets a slight chuckle out of Jethro, "We don't need two of everything. We only need another crib and girl clothes." The toys they could deal with. However they didn't need a second changing table. The twins could share a room until they got older.

"And a changing table, Jethro. What if they both have to be changed at the same time? And bottles... they have to have their own sets of bottles!"

"DiNozzo, we only need the one changing table. It's big enough to fit both of them on it if need be," he says leaning down kissing him softly. "We can get them their own set of bottles though."

"But... but what do we do if they both need to be changed at the same time, Jethro?" Nearby, Ducky laughed softly and Tony looked over at him. "What?"

"Anthony, baby's can be changed on any solid, clean surfaces, even the beds of their parents. Jethro is correct. You only need the one changing table. Everything will be just fine. And, for the first few weeks, you could probably do just fine with the one crib."

"Everything will be perfect, Tony," he says kissing his boy again. He presses a kiss to the foreheads of his children. "However right now everyone needs to get some rest."

Tony yawned and nodded, kissing his children and then handing them off to Jethro. "You're staying the night, right?"

Jethro takes the children and then sits down in a chair, giving Tony a smile. "I'll be right here, Tony. I'm not going anywhere."

Tony smiled, the exhaustion finally catching up to him.

"Good. I love you Jethro... so very much."

"I love you too, DiNozzo. Now rest," he says giving his boy a smile before those blue eyes look down to their children.

Tony closed his eyes as Ducky adjusted meds and wires before patting Tony on the back, smiling at Jethro and then leaving the room...

Two mornings later, Tony was trying to get the children dressed and ready to go home. He looked up at his lover.

"What am I doing wrong here? This whole dress for Caitlin looks... wrong..."

"Turn it around, DiNozzo," he says watching his boy. He won't help him unless he asks for it. If he asks for it then he will. However he doesn't want his boy to think he can't do anything on his own.

"Oh... right..." Tony shook his head. Getting Jackson dressed had been much easier. He turned the dress around on Caitlin and smiled softly. "There we are, sweetheart. Much better. You know, your namesake would haunt me if I let you leave this place looking anything less than perfect."

"You three ready to go?" It's asked with a smile as he goes over and kisses Tony. At least they could finally go home.

"If you will just take your son, love, we can get the hell out of here." He stood, handing Jackson to Jethro even as he kept hold of Caitlin. "Did you get both carseats checked out?"

Jethro takes Jackson and puts him on his hip, "Don't worry about the car seats, DiNozzo. They're in the car and secure." He's been down this road before and knows what he's doing.

"Okay," Tony said, carrying Caitlin in his arms as they walked out of teh hospital and over to the Charger. "You... you don't have like everyone waiting at home for us to get there do you? I'm not sure I can handle any kind of... surprise parties and such and I'd like the twins to just... keep low key with us for a couple of weeks, okay?"

That has Gibbs raising a slight brow before shaking his head, "I'm not hiding our children from anyone, DiNozzo. So nothing is going to be low key." It's bad enough that his boy wanted to hide the pregnancy when he'd been pregnant. He's not hiding their children.

"I'm not saying we hide them, Jetrho... I just want time alone with them... and with you. Is that really asking for too much?"

"Look at it from my point of view, Tony." His boy should know good and well what it felt like. Especially when Jethro hadn't been 'allowed' to tell anyone his boy was pregnant. "They can be seen by their aunts and uncles, by family and then we can go home and have time alone."

"All right, Jethro," Tony said quietly as he finished hooking Caitlin into her car seat before he moved to sit down in the front passenger's seat of the car.

He leans over and kisses his boy once he's got Jackson in his car seat and then slips into the car. "If you want we can introduce them to Abby and wait on everyone else."

"It's fine, Jethro. Whatever you want. We can take them and show them off to everyone if that's what you want to do." After all, everyone had known. Tony had wanted it kept quiet but eventually everyone had known. He just wasn't in the mood to argue. If Jethro wanted to show the kids off then that is what they would do.

"I just don't want to be there too long, please. I am still tired..."
