Special Delivery

Tony was typing up his letter for maternity leave, sitting at his desk. He was due within the next two to three weeks and Ducky had decided it would be best for him to go ahead to start his leave now in case anything came up. So, while Jethro and the team were out investigating leads on a new case, Tony was caught at his desk. He had just finished the letter and was printing it out when a jolting pain tore through his abdomen and back. It took him a few moments to catch his breath before he picked up the phone and dialed down to the morgue.

"Jimmy... get Ducky... I think this baby is gonna be early..."

Two minutes later, Ducky was entering the bullpen when another pain tore through Tony, leaving him gasping for air. Ducky walked over with Jimmy and the two of them slowly helped him to his feet.

"I've already called Jethro, Anthony, and he will be meeting us at the hospital. Dr. Pitt will be there as well to keep an eye on your pulmonary function as we get ready to deliver this little one of yours..."

Half an hour later they were at the hospital, Tony in a private room hooked up to a couple of machines and iv's, waiting for Jethro to get there.

Reaching over he takes Tony's hand giving it a light squeeze. "I love you, my precious boy."

"I love you too, Jethro," he said softly.

When they got to the office, Tony took Caitlin and Jackson into his arms and followed Jethro inside.

Jethro lets them bypass everyone there coming down to Abby's lab. Especially when he knew that's where she'd be and knew what she'd think about all of this. Knowing her hugging Tony would be the first thing to come.

Tony hears the pounding music before they even get off the elevator.

"Jethro... too loud for the babies..."

"DiNozzo."

Tony needed to stop telling him things he already knew. Walking off the elevator and down into the lab ahead of his boy he goes to Abby's radio turning it down to a more tolerable level for them and the children.

Tony rolls his eyes but doesn't say anything else as he steps off the elevator and into Abby's lab, bracing himself for her excitement...

Jethro chuckles a bit when Abby looks up about ready to say something about her music being turned around. He gives her a hug before watching her run over and hug Tony and the kids.

"Tony!" Except it isn't as loud as it would normally be. "They're adorable!"

Tony smiled softly at her. "They are, aren't they?" he said happily. "Still so small and I'm still getting used to there being two of them instead of just one..."

"You'll let me visit as much as possible won't you?" She asks giving him the widest of grins, taking a little hand in each of her own. "Oh look at you two."

"Considering one of them bears part of your name, yeah, Abby, you're welcome to visit as much as you like... just... no studded collars for the twins, all right?"

"Can I at least get them little collars with leopard print on them. I'll make sure there's nothing that dangles off of them until they get older."

Tony shot a pleading look to Jethro. Collars for the twins? They weren't but three days old!

"Can... can we wait a while, Abby? Please?" he asked softly.

Gibbs wasn't going to help his boy in this area. Abby was Abby and his boy should've known she'd wanted to do something special for the children like that.

"Oh I guess we can. At least till they're crawling around or one. But until then I do have something for them!" She says with a smile.

Tony nodded slowly. "Blankets and stuffed animals are always welcome," he said with a soft smile as Jackson began to squirm in his arms. "Gibbs, come take your son, please..."

Gibbs moves over taking their son rocking him a bit as Abby runs off to get whatever it was she was going to get. To be honest even he didn't know what the goth had gotten them.

Coming back, bouncing a bit, she hands Tony a little stuffed elephant that said 'I love my mommy' on the front of it. "That's for Caitlin." And then she produces a little stuffed puppy that she hands to Jethro. "And that's for Jackson."

Tony glanced at the elephant and smiled at it as Caitlin seemed to focus on the bright color almost immediately. He wasn't sure how he felt about being called "mommy" though. He'd stay quiet about it for now.

"Okay you two, shoo." Abby says with a smile. Kissing each of the children on top of the head before kissing Gibbs' cheek and then Tony's she watches them. "You both look tired."

"Yeah, just a little," Tony said with a smile. "Thanks, Abs. We'll see you later." He turns and heads for the elevator.

Gibbs chuckles and wraps an arm around Tony's waist leading him into the elevator and once back to the car garage to the car so he can get them home.

Once home, Tony takes the twins inside and gets them both changed and into their crib before he heads into his and Jethro's bedroom and drops down onto the bed, closing his eyes almost immediately but not quite falling asleep.

Gibbs moves into the twins' room and kisses their foreheads before moving back to his own. Looking down at his boy, he smiles a little. Moving over he takes off his boy's shoes before removing his own and slipping into bed beside him.

"Sleep, DiNozzo."

Tony nodded and shifted onto his side as gently as his could to keep from bothering his stitches, resting his head on Jethro's chest.

"Love you," he whispered softly.

Fingers run lightly through Tony's hair and he kisses his boy softly, "I love you too. Now get some sleep."

Tony smiled softly and closed his eyes, easily falling asleep.
